TempleCon 2010 Program!

E-mail Print PDF
Since we've been making a big effort to save paper, and reduce litter at the convention itself, and we've also been asked for a digital version of the TempleCon program that many of you can drop onto your personal digital device of choice, we've made available the entire TempleCon 2010 program before the convention weekend!   We urge you to download this and take it with you if possible, as we're not going crazy when it comes to printed copies, and they always tend to go as fast as we can get 'em printed out.  The program includes a full event listing, map of the convention area, and tons more useful information that you'll need upon your arrival to the convention this weekend!

It comes in two handy sizes.  A small .jpg compressed archive, and a huge PDF file perfect for printing your own physical copy should you need one.  Snag them below!

TempleCon headquarters will be going offline later tonight as we dismantle our system in preparation for moving it to the Crowne Plaza tomorrow night.  So if you have anything really crucial that you need an answer to before the con, now is the time to ask!

Guest Spotlight: George Higham

Filmmaker Guest of Honor George Higham will be screening his ground-breaking short film ANNABEL LEE at TempleCon at midnight on the night of Saturday, February 7th, in Convention Suite #1 (Room #637).

By day, George Higham X-Rays corpses.  By night, he makes monsters. He splits his time between Brooklyn and Bearsville, NY.  After graduating New York’s School of Visual Arts, George Higham spent some years doing freelance special-effects work and traveling the world.  Somehow or other, he ended up back in NYC radiating the dead at the morgue.

His nightmarish stop-motion animated puppet film based upon Edgar A. Poe’s ANNABEL LEE is currently available on DVD from Lurker Films.

THE WORMWEIRD TAROT, a boxed edition containing a full 80 card deck and Codex Book, features his weirdly horrific artworks of absinthe, necromancy, waxworks, automata, Steampunk, alchemy, plague and insanity.  He utilized archaic Victorian stage-illusion techniques to create the strange and ghastly images, favoring his “build and shoot it” approach that gives his hyper-detailed expressionist sculptures and photographs a unique “real world” edge.

He also creates 3-D stereographic images of his artworks.

George Higham is currently at work on more creations for the realm of UNHALLOWED METROPOLIS, as well as continuing freelance work.  A number of other Steampunk projects are in the works, under his “H-Gear” banner, including the “Steampunk Communicator,” a retro-homage to STAR TREK.

Also in the works is his own THE MAGICK LANTERN HORROR SHOW, a cinematic follow-up to THE WORMWEIRD TAROT, that will drag you into an absinthe-fueled descent through a Victorian never-land of the macabre, madness and monsters.

Higham’s sculptures have appeared in numerous gallery exhibits and publications.  A select few reside in the personal collections of JOE COLEMAN’S ODDITORIUM and the WESTGATE MUSEUM.  Artworks have also appeared in music videos by CRADLE OF FILTH and DANZIG, and have illustrated books such as UNHALLOWED METROPOLIS, UNHALLOWED NECROPOLIS and  STOP-MOTION FILMING AND PERFORMANCE.
