Setting: present day, Brattleboro, VT: In recent months, the city has been abuzz with rumors that Cain had paid an unexpected visit then disappeared. Was it truly Cain? Within moments after Clan Tremere's ruling body in Vienna got wind of the description, they shut down the house of mirrors and notified the Council, who in turn began acting very strangely. Was it Cain, and if not, who was it? Two vampires know the answer but so far they are not talking. What portents does the arrival of such a being indicate? Perhaps by mere coincidence a new Vampire clan has been recently discovered known as the Gweee' - how do they fit into this? Does the Werewolf designer plague still ravage the countryside surrounding Brattleboro? Did the destruction of the lab in the mountains foretell the end of this scourge? So much to uncover and so little time!
